Mr. Gordon A. Blaker, FA Museum Curator

Gordon A. Blaker has made enduring contributions to preserving, educating, and promoting the history of the Field Artillery. Since arriving at Fort Sill in 2008 as Curator of the U.S. Army Field Artillery Museum, he transformed an empty facility into one of the nation’s premier military museums. Through his leadership, the museum acquired, restored, and displayed more than 8,000 artifacts, preserving rare and historically significant pieces that represent the legacy of the King of Battle. He has worked with the FA OCS Alumni Association to build and create a space for their history to be told. His efforts earned national recognition, including the Army Historical Foundation Excellence in Museums Award. Beyond preservation, Mr. Blaker has educated nearly 100,000 Field Artillery trainees on the branch’s history and heritage while connecting veterans, Soldiers, families, and visitors with the story of Field Artillery. He frequently gives his own time and knowledge to a variety of USFAA projects. Through decades of dedication, expertise, and service, Gordon Blaker has established a legacy that ensures the sacrifices and achievements of artillerymen endure for generations.
