COL Theodore J. Janosko, U.S. Army
Inducted 2025
Colonel Ted Janosko commissioned through Ohio State University’s ROTC program as a Distinguished Military Graduate in 1975. Over a 30-year career, he served in critical Field Artillery command roles—including two batteries, two battalions, the 30th FA Regiment, and two Corps Artillery units—spanning both peacetime and combat. He deployed in Operations Desert Shield/Desert Storm as Battalion XO of 2-41 FA Bn and later deployed V Corps Artillery from Germany for Operation Iraqi Freedom - a duty typically assigned to a general officer. He was awarded two Bronze Stars, the Joint Commendation Medal, and the Legion of Merit with three Oak Leaf Clusters. He served as the Senior Fires Observer/Controller at JRTC and was an Honor Graduate or Distinguished Honor Graduate in four separate military courses. He holds a Ranger Tab, Canadian Parachutist Wings, and the U.S. Army Master Parachutist Badge. Following his retirement in 2005, he mentored senior leaders, developed and taught the Brigade FSCOORD course for the Field Artillery School, and served as the Senior Mentor for the Field Artillery Pre-Command Course, in addition to supporting large-scale simulations across major Army installations. Janosko has continuously given back through community and veterans' organizations. He served in leadership roles at the local, state, and national levels of MOAA, contributing to legislative awareness on military and veterans’ benefits and those of their families. He also served on the board of the Armed Services YMCA and helped establish the Military Welcome Center at the Lawton-Fort Sill Airport. Janosko served two years as Chair of the Comanche County Veterans Council (CCVC) and, in recognition of his service, was presented with the CCVC Veterans Hero Award as part of their Wall of Honor. He and his wife were selected as the Oklahoma Veteran Family of the Year by the Oklahoma Veterans Council in 2021. After moving to South Carolina in 2022, he has continued his commitment to giving back as a member and First Vice President of the Hilton Head Chapter of MOAA, and as an active member of the Sun City Veterans Association and the American Legion. He was a Deacon and Elder at Western Hills Christian Church in Lawton, OK, and is currently a Deacon at Okatee Baptist Church in South Carolina. A man of faith, servant leadership, and lifelong commitment, Ted Janosko continues to embody the Army’s core values in every chapter of his life and epitomizes the motto, “Never Stop Serving.”
