Professional Bio

A native of Santa Fe, Texas, Master Gunnery Sergeant Chenoweth enlisted in the Marine Corps in 2002, was trained as an artillery Fire Direction Controlman (0844). Early assignments in Okinawa, Japan (2003) focused on systems and radar integration as well as Japanese and Korean joint exercises. He deployed to Iraq in 2005 with 10th Marine Regiment during Operation Iraqi Freedom. Afterward, he served as a Field Instructor at Edson Range, MCRD San Diego, before assignments with 2nd Battalion 11th Marines and 1st Battalion, 12th Marines, honing skills in expeditionary warfare and artillery operations.
Serving with 1st Battalion, 11th Marines (2014-2015) and later Target Acquisition Platoon, he demonstrated expertise in precision targeting. A tour with 3rd Battalion, 3rd Marine Regiment (2018-2021) saw deployments to Okinawa and Australia. As Battalion Operations Chief for 1st Battalion, 12th Marines, he oversaw the demonstration of the ROGUE Fires system. Promoted to Master Sergeant in 2022, was the 1/11 Battalion Operations Chief and Regimental Assistant Operations Chief with 11th Marine Regiment. Selected and promoted to Master Gunnery Sergeant in January 2024. Currently, he is now the artillery community’s enlisted assignments monitor and will continue to work across the service to continue to better the whole of the community.
