Professional Bio
Major Jeremy Tomaino was born and raised in Cincinnati, Ohio. He earned his commission from the University of Cincinnati in 2012 as a second lieutenant in the Field Artillery. His Field Artillery assignments included Platoon Leader, Battery Executive Officer, Company Fire Support Officer, and Brigade Assistant Fire Support Officer. Major Tomaino served as a Battalion Fire Support Officer in the 2nd Bn, 4th Infantry Regiment, 3rd Brigade Combat Team, in Fort Polk, Louisiana, from which he deployed to Mosul, Iraq in 2017. Major Tomaino also served as a battery commander in the 5th Battalion, 25th Field Artillery Regiment, and as an observer/controller at the Joint Readiness Training Center at Fort Polk, Louisiana. In 2021, Major Tomaino transferred to the Foreign Area Officer (FAO) Corps as a Sub-Saharan Africa FAO. He graduated from the Defense Language Institute’s French Basic Course and the Joint Foreign Area Officer Course before completing graduate studies and intermediate level education through the Naval Postgraduate School and Naval War College. Major Tomaino completed his yearlong In-Region Training (IRT) while assigned to the Chief of Mission at the Embassy of The United States in Gaborone, Botswana. Major Tomaino is currently assigned to the U.S. Army Attaché Transient Detachment while enrolled as a student at the Joint Military Attaché School in Washington D.C. Some of his awards include the Bronze Star Medal, the Meritorious Service Medal, Army Commendation Medal, Meritorious Unit Commendation, the Army Air Assault Badge, and the Honorable Order of Saint Barbara. He holds a Bachelor of Business Administration in International Business from the University of Cincinnati, a Master of Arts in Management and Leadership from Webster University, and a Master of Arts in Security Studies from the Naval Postgraduate School. Major Tomaino is happily married to the former Myonghee Park of Dongducheon, South Korea. They have a seven-year-old daughter named Joy.
