Professional Bio

After graduating in the top 15% of FA Basic Officer Leader Course (BOLC) and designated as a Joint Fires Observer (L7), she was assigned to Fort Bliss, TX, 2nd Brigade Combat Team (2BCT) first in 1st Battalion, 37th Armor Regiment (1-37 AR) as a Fire Support Officer and next in 4th Battalion, 27th Field Artillery Regiment (4-27 FA), Charlie Battery as a Fire Direction Officer, Platoon Leader, and Executive Officer. While in 2BCT, Catherine participated stateside in Network Integration Experiment (NIE) 16.1 and 16.2, Maneuver and Fires Integrated Experiment (MFIX), and Army Warfighting Assessments (AWA). From 2017-2018, she deployed to Camp Manion at Al Taqaddum Air Base, Iraq where she served as acting commander of a Paladin unit in support of Operation Inherent Resolve and Camp Buehring, Kuwait where she served as the Battalion Logistics Officer (S4) in support of Operation Spartan Shield.

After graduating from FA Captains Career Course and completing her Master of Business Administration (MBA) from Kenan-Flagler Business School at The University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, Catherine was assigned to 428th Field Artillery Brigade (428 FAB) first in 1st Battalion, 30th Field Artillery Regiment (1-30 FA) as a commandant-select FA BOLC Gunnery Instructor. She taught three sections with a 100% pass rate, all during a COVID-19 pandemic environment, and produced two International Distinguished Honor Graduates. Next, Catherine served in 2nd Battalion, 2nd Field Artillery Regiment (2-2 FAR, "Big Deuce!"), Alpha Battery as a Battery Commander. In 2021, Catherine was selected as a finalist for the General Douglas MacArthur Leadership Award.

After completion of Battery Command, Catherine completed her Master of Arts in Education and Human Development from The Graduate School of Education and Human Development at The George Washington University. She was selected as a USSYP Military Mentor in 2024 and Senior Military Mentor for 2025 (in-person).
