Mr. Craig Greer

Craig Morgan Greer was born 17 July, 1964, in Kingston Springs, TN. He joined the Army as a Fire Support Specialist (13F), and attended both Basic and AIT at Fort Sill. He served on active duty for 10 years with the 101st and 82nd Airborne Divisions. Craig deployed to Panama in support of Operation Just Cause and twice to Iraq during the Gulf War. As a jumpmaster, he has more than 200 static line jumps and did his re-enlistment in 2001 with the Ft. Bragg based U.S. Army Parachute team, the Golden Knights. In 2000, Craig signed his first record deal while he was serving in the Army National Guard and became professionally known as “Craig Morgan”. Morgan has charted 25 songs on Billboard including signature hits “Bonfire,” “Little Bit Of Life,” “Almost Home,” “Redneck Yacht Club,” “International Harvester,” “Love Remembers,” “This Ole Boy,” “Wake Up Loving You,” and the four-week No. 1, “That's What I Love About Sunday” which was Morgan’s first No. 1, and the most-played song on country radio in 2005. On September 18, 2008, while performing a concert for troops at Ft. Bragg, he was surprised onstage with an invitation to become a member of the iconic Grand Ole Opry.  In 2020, Craig released his album “God, Family, and Country” which includes the song “The Father, My Son, and the Holy Ghost” which he wrote following the loss of his son Jerry in 2016. Even after Craig hung up his uniform his commitment to service did not stop. Craig has done several USO tours both in the U.S. and abroad and is an active participant in the Special Operations Warrior Foundation, Folds of Honor, and Operation Finally Home. Craig’s own foundation “The Dickson County Craig Morgan Foundation” supports “Billy’s Place” for temporarily displaced children in Dickson County, TN and to provide lasting funding to other children’s organizations to ensure the well-being of children. Morgan has been awarded a USO Merit Award for his tireless support of U.S. soldiers and their families and the Army Civilian Service Award for all of his contributions to the troops through his music. The values of the Field Artillery have helped carry him to the top of his chosen career path. Craig is a proud family man, field artilleryman, and accomplished musician.
