USFAA Awards Six $1,000 Scholarships for 2008

The US Field Artillery Association (USFAA) announces the six winners of the annual undergraduate academic or vocational scholarships and congratulates them on their outstanding accomplishments.

            2008 Scholarships. The six $1,000 scholarships were awarded in the categories of immediate family of an enlisted member, immediate family of an officer member and member.

 

Family of Enlisted Member. Trevor Percival of Apache, Oklahoma, who was home-schooled, will  at­tend  Cameron University, in Lawton, Oklahoma, this fall. His fa­ther, Sergeant First Class Jeff Per­cival, is with Headquarters and Headquarters Battery, 428th Field Artillery. He is a member of the USFAA First Chapter.

Cassandra Dawson of Lawton is a sophomore at Cameron Univer­sity, majoring in Business Manage­ment with a 3.0 GPA. Her father, First Sergeant Dan R. Tribble II, is with the  3rd Battalion, 13th Field Artillery.

Family of Officer Member. Alli­son Lee of Lawton will graduate from MacArthur High School in Lawton in May 2008. She will attend Southwestern Oklahoma State University College of Pharm-acy in Weatherford, Oklahoma, this fall. Her father is First Lieutenant William Lee with the 1st Battalion, 17th Field Artillery.  He is a member of the Diamond Brigade Chapter.

Mary Hendrick of Oak Ridge, North Carolina, is a sophomore at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, with a major in Chemis­try. Her father, Lieutenant Colonel Mark Hendrick, is with the 113th Sustainment Brigade. He is a Life­time Member of the USFAA 113th FA Regiment Chapter.

Erin Brown of Cedarville, Ohio, is a sophomore at Cedarville Univer­sity, in Cedarville, majoring in nurs­ing with a 3.71 GPA. Her father is Colonel David A. Brown and is the 2nd Iraqi Division Military Transi­tion Team Chief in Mosul, Iraq. He is a member of the New England Chapter.

Member. Lieutenant Colonel Mark Hendrick of Greensboro, North Carolina, is pursuing a Master’s De­gree in Procurement and Acquistions from Webster University He has a 3.83 GPA. He is with the 113th Sus­tainment Brigade in Greensboro, North Carolina. He is a Lifetime Member of the USFAA 113th FA Regiment  Chapter.

 

     2009 Scholarships. The scholarships are for worthy USFAA members and their dependents to help them attain their academic or vocational goals. To compete, applicants must be admitted to an accredited university, college or vocational undergraduate or graduate program of study; and complete, sign and submit the application packet to the USFAA by the deadline (US Field Artillery Association, P.O. Box 33027, Fort Sill, Oklahoma 73503-0027). The forms and details of the application are available online at www.fieldartillery.org or by calling the Association at (580) 355-4677.
